What is road transport?
Road transport is the transport of goods by road—typically by truck or van—and forms the backbone of European freight handling. It is the most flexible mode of transport for shipments within Europe: goods can be picked up directly from the sender and delivered door-to-door to the recipient without transshipment via ports or airports.
Road transport is the right choice when shipping goods within Europe and you need direct, reliable delivery. For intercontinental shipments, we also offer air and ocean freight.
Our road freight services
We offer three basic service types depending on the size of the shipment and the frequency of shipments.
Full Truck Load (FTL)
You have exclusive use of the entire truck’s capacity. Your cargo is picked up at your location and delivered directly to the recipient—no middlemen, no consolidation. Shorter transit times and minimal handling.
FTL is suitable for:
- Shipments that take up most of a truck
- Cargo that requires dedicated capacity due to its nature or volume
- Routes with fixed, regular deliveries
Partial load
Your cargo is consolidated with other customers’ cargo on the same route. You pay for the space your cargo takes up—not for an entire truck. Weekly departures on all regular routes.
Dellæs is suitable for:
- Shipments that are too large for less-than-truckload (LTL) but too small for full truckload (FTL)
- Regular deliveries to fixed destinations
- Situations where price per unit is more important than exclusive capacity
General cargo
Individual packages, pallets, or boxes consolidated with shipments from other shippers. Flexible and cost-effective for regular, smaller shipments. Weekly—and on many routes, daily—departures.
Domestic road transport throughout Denmark
We operate 150 daily round trips to and from Denmark’s largest cities—including deliveries in pedestrian zones and city centers, which impose special requirements on vehicle size and maneuverability.
All of our Danish drivers are certified to operate forklifts and can unload the shipment themselves at the destination. You don’t need to coordinate with the recipient regarding handling—we’ll take care of it ourselves.
All vehicles in Nordcarrier’s own fleet meet Euro 6 standards. We require the same of our regular partners.
International road transport from Denmark
We operate daily services to and from the major European trade destinations via a network of over 300 approved, dedicated vehicles. This ensures stable capacity and predictable transit times—even during periods of high demand.

Specialized road transport
Standard trucks can handle the vast majority of jobs. For cargo with special requirements, we offer:
Temperature-controlled transport – for perishable goods, food products, and cargo that require a constant temperature during transit.
Express Delivery – for shipments that can’t wait. We coordinate direct transport and quickly find available capacity.
Heavy cargo and oversized shipments – for shipments that exceed standard dimensions or weight limits.
ADR / Dangerous Goods – Our drivers and vehicles are certified to transport dangerous goods.
